Take Cupid on a Valentine's Day B&B excursion

Hoping for the perfect Valentine to arrive?  Be proactive. Invite that pudgy little cherub with the arrow on an adventure.  My friend Maria Coder at BnB Finder.com has some great suggestions for single women and their girlfriends. Take an excursion to find the perfect date and mate.
Here is a simple three step plan.
1.  Identify your type, be honest — are you hoping to rope a city slicker, a cowboy, a surfer, a skier or Rhett Butler?
2.  Make your travel arrangements today
3.  Head out to the Inn where you are most likely to find your type

Here are five types of Valentines and where to find them. So choose your type then book accommodations where you and your single friends may can stay and find ambiance, amenities and even complimentary breakfasts.
IF YOU WANT TO ROPE A COWBOY
If down-home, belt-buckled, Wrangler-wearing, men are your favorite, you’ll want to head to Nashville. The Tennessee capital is big on boys with guitars, country crooners and honky-tonks. Head over to the Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast in Nashville’s trendy and historic Hillsboro Village.
Full daily breakfasts vary from piled-high French toast to homemade quiche. Complimentary beverages and all-day snacks are included. Free wireless internet let’s you quickly post your photos on Facebook. The inn does have a two-night minimum stay but with rates at $160, divided by two ($80 each) it’s as if you get one night free.
The Brentwood and The Big Bungalow Bed & Breakfast are also popular choices though there are many other fun Nashville bed and breakfasts and Tennessee inns.

IF YOU WANT TO SNATCH A CITY SLICKER
Manhattan or shall we say, Men-hattan, is the place to go to catch a fast-talking, career-obsessed, former stockbroker. If you’re looking to sip cosmopolitans in an urban playground, you’ve met your match.
Conveniently located in New York City’s Upper East Side, the Ivy Terrace, is walking distance to countless bars and restaurants. High on old world charm and modern amenities, the inn features stunning antiques, complimentary WiFi, cable TV, and a guest kitchen stocked with breakfast treats, cookware and coffee maker.
Hotel 309 and Wyman House are also popular B&B choices in Manhattan, though there are many other New York City bed and breakfasts and Manhattan inns.

IF THERE AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH
If you want to meet a mountaineer, you’re going to have to climb a mountain. So, chop, chop… grab your winter skis, windbreaker and chapstick and hit the slopes.
How about the Wakefield Inn & Spa in Wakefield, Quebec within the natural beauty of the Gatineau Park?  With more than 36,100-hectares of hills, forest, lakes and streams., this also means, any nearby male outdoor enthusiasts are likely to congregate here.

IF YOU WANT TO SNARL A 6-PACK SURFER DUDE
Hot and sweaty for the laidback, Hawaiian Tropic-scented, type of guy? Sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida is the place for you. Grab your flip flops and a bottle of water and take seaside seats.
Steps from a glorious sandy beach is the Granada Inn. This secluded paradise lets guests enjoy Continental breakfast poolside each morning. Stroll along the ocean, “accidentally” lose your beach ball near the surfer catching his breath, or shop the high-end boutiques along Las Olas Boulevard. The inn provides an easy escape and a lot of eye candy.
There’s also free internet, in case you generously want to share your red hot pics and instantly make friends green with envy. There’s a two-night minimum on each stay; prices start at $139 per room (based on double occupancy).
Florida has many waterside bed and breakfasts, to fine tune your search be more specific, looking up inns in Key West bed and breakfasts or Fort Myers bed and breakfasts.

IF FRANKLY MY DEAR, YOU DO GIVE A DAMN
They just don’t make men like Rhett Butler anymore. Still, if you’re seeking a true Southern gentleman, a man’s man, who will open doors and buy you emerald green hats, Savannah, Georgia, is your best bet.
Sweet and historic, the Green Palm Inn instantly exudes Savannah charm. The inn, once cottages for seamen, has a refreshingly folk Victorian feel. Just steps from Greene Square with one of historic Savannah’s best known gardens, the inn is also a short stroll to the Savannah River Street and other cultural hotspots.
Southern hospitality at its best, the innkeepers are known for their over-the-top gourmet breakfasts, afternoon dessert and pre-dinner wine and cheese? Rates start at $149 plus tax per night. Complimentary wireless internet is included. There is a two-night minimum for Valentine’s Day.
The Marshall House Bed and Breakfast and the Azalea Inn and Gardens are also popular places to stay, though there are many fantastic Savannah bed and breakfasts and Georgia inns.

Regardless of where you choose to go to get in Cupid’s path, have a great time, look around and keep your chin up. In the end, it’s better to be looking for someone great and enjoying yourself rather than sitting home and waiting for the phone to ring.
