There was an outpouring of love for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as she was lying in repose on the steps of the Supreme Court. People filed by and left flowers. People knelt down in prayer. Mother’s hugged little girls wearing empowering tee-shirts. And many women wore the RBG tee with her signature “I Dissent” collar. It was solemn and dignified until Donald and Melania Trump arrived.
As the two stood beside the casket for a photo-op — both masked for a change — the boos began. Boos soon turned into chants of “Honor Her Wish” and quickly evolved into “Vote Him Out.”
When asked about it by reporters, Trump claimed not to hear anything but some sounds. Barbie Press Person heard and said it was appalling.
Did he or didn’t he hear the chants? If he did, he will probably lie about it.
As Mary L. Trump, Ph.D., noted in Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,
“The lies may become true in his mind as soon as he utters them, but they’re still lies. It’s just another way for him to see what he can get away with. And so far, he’s gotten away with everything.”
In other news about the Donald: Lawsuit in the Millions
Today Donald is getting his comeuppance: CNN and the New York Times reported that Mary Trump is suing Donald and his siblings for fraud. She says that fraud in that family is “a way of life.”
CNN says: “The lawsuit accuses her two uncles and her aunt, a retired federal judge, of conspiring to force her to sign a settlement agreement that “fleeced her of tens of millions of dollars or more.”
Is such a thing possible? As Michael Cohen says in Disloyal: A Memoir, “I knew him better than even his family did ... in the unguarded moments when he revealed who he really was: a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man.”
In honor of RBG — we need to Vote Him Out.
