When you are traveling, prepare your own medical kit either purchase items individually or you can get prepackaged Medical Travel Kits. The advantage to packing you own is that if there are types of materials for which you might have an allergic reaction, you will be able to circumvent the problem.
When preparing a travel kit, make the decision to let it meet all minor emergencies:
- Band-aids
- Gauze packs
- Gauze wrap
- Tape that is safe for the skin
- Alcohol wipes
- Iodine wipes
- Peroxide or first aid gel
- ACE bandages
- Neosporin
- Benedryl
- Hydrocortisone cream
- Immodium
- Kaopectate
- Insect repellant
- Tylanol for fever
- Ibuprophen for muscle aches and cramps
- Peptides for indigestion
- Cough syrup
- Antibiotics if you are prone to infection
- Extra tissues if you are prone to nosebleeds
