In the book called The Courage Companion: How to Live Life with True Power, there is a section called Courage to Love, which focuses on C. S. Lewis. Best known for his Chronicles of Narnia he talks of love’s possibility and pain.
The authors tell us:
“Finding the courage to love can be difficult. Call it the “L” word, or listen to those who say that the three most intimidating words in the English language are “I love you” . . . .
“Love takes courage. It is a risk. It leaves us vulnerable. And yet nothing in life can give us as much joy as our ability to open our hearts to love.” (p 121)
In this gem of a book we find stories that are simple and powerful reflections on love.
The book is by Mary Beth Sammons and Nina Lesowitz authors of “Living Life as a Thank you.” Both books are from Viva Editions.
