While I am always on the look-out for sayings about love, sometimes a loving thought is right in front me. The following was a verse that I used in my Serenity Journal written some years ago. It was a book that I gave to a friend to use for his classes. He showed it to a publisher and to this day, with each royalty check that keeps coming in, I look to the heavens and say, “Thank you, Jac.”
It seems that each check is a reminder of our friendship and they always seem to arrive when I am feeling blue. In today’s world there is a great deal of news that does discourage us. And yet the world is sprinkled with goodness that shines.
What a sad irony right now for Billy Ray Cyrus whose marriage is in shambles, and yet, he will be hosting a program that brings together servicemen and their families. His gift of love with his daughter Miley has been to entertain our troops. Billy Ray Cyrus, marriage ending, hosts miltary family reunion.
The following saying both defines love and tells us how to become loving.

One becomes a truly loving person by opening oneself to love and goodness.
True love is calm, confident and self-possessed;
It presupposes the liberating experience of having been loved.
This wonderful and irrestible power of love is the ultimate treasure in human life.
In order to receive it, one must be open to the gift that is in life:
One must look for flowers and drink in their beauty;
One must count blessings and dismiss woes.
