Love Daily: An apology as love, Nov. 24, 2010

Posted on November 24, 2010 by Rita Watson

No matter how many times I read Judy Ford’s “Every Day Love: the delicate art of  caring for each other” I find another shining jewel.
I have often written about forgiveness, but here is an example that is an apology wrapped in love. Viva Editions – Every Day Love Readings and Events
“I’m sorry I yelled,” she said. “I don’t know why I do that. I am trying not to snap, but I failed again.”  Then she reached out with the most sincere hug, the kind of  hug that melts a heart.
“You don’t desire that,” she added. “You’re always so gentle with me.”
“Oh, honey,” he said.  “You give the cutest apologies and the most fabulous hugs. All is forgiven.” (p.117)

As Judy Ford adds, “Apologize quickly….Be happy with yourself that you’re mature enough to admit when you’ve crossed the line.”

Now perhaps this couple seems like one from Fantasy Land.  And maybe you and your love will never be quite that lovey-dovey, but it cannot hurt and may help your relationship if you shared the above apology story, and put it on your “aspirations list.”
