August 2, 2011: Jennifer Aniston has been America’s sweetheart and so it broke my heart to have to tell all those folks across “The Pond” our worse fears. She has turned into Angelina Jolie by coming between Justin Theroux and Heidi Bivens, his squeeze of 14 years. Futhermore, with her biological clock ticking she purchased a home in Theroux’s New York City neck of the woods complete with a nursery. London’s Biggest Conversation – LBC Radio 97.3 FM I talked about all of this with Richard Arnold on his “Saturday Night Live”– who is one of my favorite personalities.
Arnold asked my opinion on public displays of affection as we have seen with Aniston and Theroux. While I firmly believe in affection, public and private, in this case it seems they the two were snuggling even before Theroux remembered to tell Bivens that their romance was over.
Watch that body language
If Jen were smart she would have a good look at the body language of Theroux. Does he ever look anyone in the eye? In many ways he is like Brad Pitt these days posing with Angelina — looking at the camera instead of at each other. He is one of the bad-boy types that Jennifer finds attractive.
Make up your mind, Jen
And what is this about buying a place in New York City with a nursery? Arnold pointed out that she is of that age. Yes, her biological clock is ticking if she wants children. But she doesn’t need a husband for that.
Aniston needs to make up her mind. If she wants a husband, then she should find someone who loves and adores her without resorting to the tactics that Angelina used to come between her and Brad Pitt. And why someone from Tinseltown? What about an doctor, lawyer, or professor?
And if it’s babies she wants – she can take another page from Angelina as mother as mother and look into adoption. If adoption isn’t her cup of tea – I’m sure Octomon can give her a tip or two about conceiving without a man.
As a Providence Journal Relationship columnist and Relationship expert, formerly the Yale Department of Psychiatry, I’m wishing that Aniston will take a good look at herself in the mirror and ask herself “What am I doing?”
