I received this note the other day from one of my sisters, Deborah, who sent it on my birthday. I can understand why. I’m Italian and if it is in my head, it is on my lips, or in this blog. While many of us know the saying, we often forget that the first line originated with a philosopher who lived sometime in the 400 BC era!
- Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
- Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
- Leave the rest to God.
- Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. . . .
- Life is about learning to dance in the rain.
What has this to do with relationships? Everything. As such, here is a piece I wrote sometime ago and it is still one of my favorites: Words that harm, words that heal
