Here is a story of love, marriage, pregnancy, and unconditional love. For one family involved in an IVF mix-up, Christmas came early when they learned that a mother who had received the wrong embryo would be giving them their baby.
Octomom put in vitro fertilization (IVF) on the map. But for most mothers, IVF, which means combining sperm and eggs in a laboratory before implanting, is often a last resort.
This story of an IVF clinic mix-up is one of the most touching stories that I have read in a long time. According to the Associated Press a fertility clinic mix-up meant that Shannon Morell’s child was being carried by Carolyn Savage.
They reported that “Embryo mix-ups at fertility clinics are extremely rare. In those few instances, they’ve degenerated into custody battles, ugly lawsuits and at least one abortion. But not this time. Savage and her husband decided that the right thing — the only thing — to do was to give the baby to the biological parents.”
I encourage you to read this beautiful story. Ohio couple giving up baby after clinic mix-up.
In this day of irresponsible sex among celebrities, this story is a reminder of how sacred some married couples regard pregnancy and the birth of a child as the gift of life.
This is glorious example of unconditional love, which means, no strings attached, simply love from one’s heart and soul.
