PATIENT-PHYSICIAN RELATIONSHIPS: In the world of health policy, the American Medical Association president J. James Rohack, MD, called for an end to the practice dubbed cost-profiling in which insurance companies steer patients to doctors whom they feel charge less for procedures.
Many believe that the practice undermines patient-physician partnerships and patient confidence especially for those who have developed a relationship with their own physicians whom they trust. It was highlighted today in the New England Journal of Medicine. Read more in Health News Examiner
