Whether it is a lover, spouse, family member or friend, we so often find ourselves listening to someone who has a need to hear us say, “I have faith in you.”
Men oftentimes exhibit bravado but inside they may be trying to give themselves a pep talk. How often have you been with a man who needed to look for a new job either because he was laid off “downsized” or fired? And what about men who confide that they are heartbroken because the love of their lives left them?
Men can encourage other men. They can show a friend they have faith in him.
And women are fabulous at encouraging other women.
But sometimes sensitivity takes a back seat with couples. It does not have to be that way.
Everyone of us faces the faith and fear moment at some time in our lives, especially when faced with a decision.
The most important support we can be to someone whom we care about is refusing to buy into their fear by saying something such as, “Just make sure you know what you’re doing this time.”

In this world of multi-tasking, just think of all the decisions that we face each day regarding our own emotional well-being, finances, friends, jobs, credit card payments, social life, day care, elder care, attorneys, doctors, car repair, mortgages. The decisions we make are sometimes critical ones.
If we can put aside our own agenda and help another person through the anxiety, it is a show of love that will long be appreciated.
